TEMA: a new project - a new creative logo

Teaching Multilingually Through Art is a TAGS project based on teaching activity groups (TAGs) working on enhancing the teaching and learning of English in Việt Nam. The project aims to make the most of young learners' resources in secondary schools in three provinces in Quảng Ninh, Tuyên Quang, and Thái Nguyên. We bring together art, culture, English, Vietnamese and ethnic languages to inspire learners to explore language learning as a pathway for personal growth and identity discovery. With this project, we have worked with our logo designer:  Đinh Đàm Hải Anh who shares his vision on the project through his creative logo:

The concept of the logo is deeply connected to the ideas of growth and learning in the context of English language education. The tree symbolizes the development of knowledge, with its roots drawing nourishment from the open book, which represents the learning content and curriculum. Just as the roots are essential for the tree’s survival, the content serves as the foundation for learners’ growth in acquiring the English language.

The colorful leaves reflect the various teaching methods and approaches that emerge as visible outcomes. These methods, much like the leaves of a tree, allow it to "photosynthesize," just as learners absorb and process knowledge. The diversity of colors embodies the creativity and richness of language learning, which is at the core of the Teaching English Multilingually through Art (TEMA) project.

Art is expressed through colorful shapes, symbolizing freedom and blending, which represent the diversity of teaching methods. These vibrant elements illustrate how different approaches can come together harmoniously, fostering an inclusive learning environment. Just as artists use various colors and forms to create dynamic works, our educational practices encourage learners to engage with language in innovative and expressive ways.
